IVCA Leisure League. Round 3 : 50 in 4 Sunday March 23rd

A total of 46 riders took part in the traditional 50 in 4 on Sunday 23rd March. The morning was foggy and misty to begin with causing some concern that it might have to be cancelled however as we left the Phoenix Park it lifted and the day turned out fine and sunny throughout. The route varied slightly from last year choosing a quieter option from Maynooth through Rathcoffey and on to Kilcock via the Clane road. Just before Kilcock there was a split in the group when yours truly had a minor mechanical problem,then between Kilcock and Summerhill a crash caused a further delay to some riders. A direction sign showing the route to the Trim road from Summerhill was obviously removed over night that caused a confusion with some riders returning through Dunboyne rather than along the Trim road to the Navan Road and back to the Park. |
The idea of direction signs will have to be reviewed again as it can cause confusion when they are interfered with or removed and all riders can't always remember the route map displayed at the start. 3 points will be awarded for this event. The next event will be the East Coast Tour on Easter Sunday when we would encourage all Leisure Cyclists to join in.
